Originally opened in 1963 as the “South Terminal” the Harvey Milk Terminal 1 facility is the oldest passenger terminal used at the San Francisco International Airport. The multi-stage project began in 2016 and is now complete as of June 2024. The renovation project included demolishing existing facilities and reconstructing a new Terminal 1, Center and Boarding Area B.
Axias provided cost-estimating services for the electrical and audio/visual scope for Phase 1 of the renovation, which focused on enhancing passenger processing capabilities, expanding concessions, and enhancing public areas.
