City of Lawrenceville

Owner: City of Lawrenceville | Services: Condition Assessment, Cost Estimating

The City of Lawrenceville engaged Axias to complete a comprehensive Facilities Condition Assessment for the Department of Risk / Facilities Management.  The assessment includes a complete inventory, identification, documentation of the city’s facility and systems, and recommended corrections and future actions, including cost estimates. The deliverables produced by Axias included a plan for corrective actions to maximize efficiencies and costs of planned projects and prioritizing recommended projects by condition and the risk posed to the city by deferring action.

As part of the scope of service, Axias cost estimator developed current facility replacement values for each facility and used those replacement values to calculate the current facility index as well as the facility condition needs index.  Once assessments were complete, Axias met with City staff from various departments to understand existing identified corrections that will need to be assessed in the compilation of the corrective action plans.

The assessment included nine facilities totaling approximately 275,000 square feet, including:

A prominent spot in downtown Lawrenceville that hosts many performing arts events.

Also called the Aurora Theater, is an iconic three-story brick building that was originally a historic church.

The main headquarters of various divisions, such as the administration, patrol officers, investigative services, and dispatch command center.

A 64,000-square-foot, four story, building originally constructed in 2002.

A two-story building that has evolved from a residence built in 1893 to a visitor center in 2018 and is now used as a coffee shop.

A facility that houses utility service vehicles and heavy machinery and serves as the general office space for the city’s utility services and construction and development office.

The facility originally served as the city’s Water Plant; however, the building is now utilized as a storage for the public works department.

A historical building constructed in 1914 and renovated in 1980 to serve as a venue for private and city events until 2022.

An amphitheater park constructed in 2015 with a recent renovation in 2021. The park includes open green space, a dog park, and a playground area and regularly hosts community events.
