Cornell University
Since 2017 Axias has been collaborating with A/E partners to support projects on a mix of contemporary and historic buildings on the Cornell campus.
Sage Hall Waterproofing Replacement
Sage Hall is a prominent building on the Cornell campus and current home to the Johnson Graduate School of Management. In recent years the building has experienced water intrusion issues. Axias was engaged by the design team to provide design development level cost estimates for the replacement of the building foundation walls and waterproofing systems, as well as association electrical work and exterior façade repairs.
Historic Alpha Delta Phi Chapter House and Lodge
This historic fraternity house was designed in the Jacobethan revival style by Architect John Russell Pope, one of America’s most renowned traditional architects. A design team was engaged to produce a feasibility study focused on restoring the exterior masonry and other elements and establishing a maintenance plan for the future care of the building. Interior renovations included reconfiguration of space such as kitchen and support space as well as restoration of historic features in public spaces and upgrading MEP equipment. Axias worked with the design team to provided feasibility level cost estimates to accompany the study.
Hughes Hall Building Envelope Restoration
Hughes Hall, which houses the Cornell Law School, has undergone various types of renovations and change of use over the years. These projects primarily enhanced the interior of the building while addressing only critical issues on the exterior of the building. Axias provided cost estimating on a major project to restore the building exterior replacing all exterior stone veneer with new stone veneer and limestone trim to restore the buildings appearance and energy performance.
