Forsyth County | Facility Condition Assessment
Owner: Forsyth County, Georgia | Services: Condition Assessment, Cost Estimating
Forsyth County, located just north of Atlanta, covers an area of approximately 247 square miles and is home to more than 200,000 residents. Axias was engaged by the board of commissioners of Forsyth County to perform facility condition assessments of several county buildings, including the County Administration Building, the County Courthouse Annex Building, the County Magistrate Court, and the Tax Commissioner Building, among others.
Axias’ condition assessment team evaluated the condition of all building systems and components, assessing the remaining useful life of these systems and recommending repair or replacement options for identified deficiencies. We also prioritized and categorized the recommendations, evaluating risk, criticality, and impact on the building mission, and provided an associated cost estimate for each recommended repair or replacement action. The facility assessment was crucial to informing an overall master plan for the county square, allowing the county to understand the building conditions, prioritize renovations, and determine what buildings would best accommodate new office space for county staff.
