San Francisco International Airport (SFO) offers non-stop flights to more than 44 international cities on 38 international carriers. The Bay Area's largest airport connects non-stop with 78 cities in the U.S. on 13 domestic airlines.
Originally opened in 1963 as the “South Terminal”, the Terminal 1 facility is the oldest passenger terminal in use at SFO. The renovation project, to be completed in phases from 2016 to 2024, will include the demolition of existing facilities and reconstruction of a new Terminal 1 Center and Boarding Area B.
Axias provided cost estimating services for the electrical and audio/visual scopes of work for Phase 1 of the renovation, which focused on improving passenger processing capabilities, expanding concessions, and enhancing public areas.
