Established in 1944, the World Bank is headquartered at 1818 H Street NW in Washington, DC. With 189 member countries, staff from over 170 nations, and offices in more than 130 locations, the World Bank provides loans and grants to the governments of developing countries to fund sustainable solutions and capital projects aimed at reducing poverty and building shared prosperity.
The bank selected the GHT Limited team, which included Axias, for an on-call MEP engineering design contract. The contract scope included a series of renovation projects at the World Bank’s four-building complex in Washington DC’s Foggy Bottom neighborhood. Axias provided cost estimating and life cycle cost analysis services for each of these projects which included the partial replacement of light fixtures and lighting controls in multiple buildings, upgrades and replacements for the I Building’s chilled water plant and cooling towers, and the replacement and installation of two air handling units for Building J.
