What’s New at Axias
As we move into Q4 and see the holiday season quickly approaching, we have good news to share across our offices.
In Atlanta, we will be kicking off our first cost estimating project with Emory University, a big win for our local team and an excellent opportunity to leverage Axias’ vast resume of higher education projects across the country. Our Atlanta condition assessment team kicked off a new project in Durham, NC, to complete condition assessments of 19 fire stations as well as fire training facilities across the City.
This contract award highlights Axias’ proven expertise in efficient data gathering, innovation in survey execution, and continuous improvement in deliverables—delivering value and confidence to federal stakeholders in critical cost estimating processes.
In Washington, DC, our team wrapped up work on the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream. The new museum opened in late September and features 70,000 SF of exhibits, including a 360-degree holodeck that provides an immersive experience for visitors. Akridge, who served as the third-party construction manager on the project, engaged Axias’ construction support services, which included independent cost estimates, contractor pay application review, change order analysis, and labor rate review.
In New Jersey, our team was recently awarded a second consecutive term contract with Rowan University to provide cost estimating services. Over the past term, Axias contributed to multiple projects across Rowan University’s campuses, offering detailed cost analyses to support budget efficiency and project success. We will continue to support the University, as they are expecting to commit between $700 and $800 million toward projects over the next five years. We’ve also continued our work with the Ambassador Theatre Group. After providing project management services as they transformed the August Wilson Theatre into the Kit Kat Klub for the 2024 production of Cabaret, we were also engaged to support the return of the theatre to its pre-show condition.
Down in Florida, our team is working on projects across the state. In Pompano Beach, we’ve recently kicked off work on the new city hall and parking garage, a major capital project for the City and part of an overall downtown revitalization program. In Orlando, we are providing cost estimating to the University of Central Florida for their student union renovation project that will update the University’s branding, add new wayfinding elements, and enhance the student union’s usability for campus life.
Out west, our condition assessment team will be spending early fall in South Dakota at Custer State Park. Axias was recently awarded a contract to complete condition assessments of multiple lodging and visitor amenities buildings across the four main areas of the 114 square mile state park.
