Budgeting and Benchmarking
There is perhaps no stage more important to achieving a project’s objectives than conceiving a preliminary budget based on proposed scope and quality/performance characteristics. Getting the alignment of budget, scope, and quality correct at the beginning is critical to success, as is maintaining that alignment as the design progresses.
Sometimes the only information available at the start of a project is space program requirements, a proposed site, and a general description of the building’s functions. When this happens, we rely on our comprehensive project database and experience to develop a budget that satisfies owner expectations and supports design team creativity—the goal being a facility of which the entire project team can be proud.
