Axias Hires Sam Ayodele

We are pleased to announce that Axias has hired Sam Ayodele as a cost manager.

Sam is a chartered quantity surveyor with over 20 years of experience working in cost management in Africa and the United States. He brings with him experience working in different capacities on government, public and private projects. He is experienced in government software such as SUCCESS and MII for conceptual, cost planning and detailed cost estimating. Sam’s sector experience includes hospitality, defense, aviation, education and commercial real estate.

Axias is now supporting Washington REIT at The Trove

Axias is pleased to announce that we will be working with Washington Real Estate Investment Trust (Washington REIT) to provide construction support services for The Trove, an apartment community redevelopment located along the close-in Columbia Pike corridor of Arlington, VA. The project involves construction of 401 new units in three seven-story buildings, and renovation of the existing 711-unit apartment complex.  With completion scheduled to start delivering units 2019, the transformed complex will offer an array of new, up-to-date amenities to the community.

The Trove is designed to provide the convenience of comparable apartment communities, but with more amenities and at a lower price point. Residents will enjoy a rooftop deck overlooking the area and featuring a pool, cabanas, amphitheater-style decking, fire pits, grills, large screens for movie nights, and communal dining tables. The Trove will offer a range of apartment sizes ranging from studios to three-bedroom units, all built according to environmental and sustainable design standards to achieve LEED Silver certification from the USGBC. Select apartments will enjoy views of the Army Navy Club golf course on one side, and city vistas above the tree line on the other side.

Axias is “getting it done” for JBG Smith at Their New Headquarters in Bethesda

Newly-formed, Washington, DC-area commercial real estate powerhouse, JBGSmith has selected Axias to provide Owner’s Rep Project Management Services for its new Bethesda, Maryland trophy office building, in which the REIT will locate its new headquarters.  Located in the heart of the Bethesda Row area, the mixed-use development includes a new 14-story office tower along with a new Dean and DeLuca luxury grocery store and improvements to Reed Street park and bike path.

The new 14-story, 287,000 square foot office tower replaces an existing outdated office building, and will contain over 200,000 of office space, luxury amenity features such as a fitness space and roof terrace, high-level finishes and about 7,000 square feet of ground floor level retail. 

The project is designed to achieve LEED Gold Energy Efficiency.

 

Axias Hires Colin Phillips

We are pleased to announce that Colin Phillips has joined Axias as Senior Cost Consultant. Colin has over 17 years of experience within the construction industry. He has worked on a wide range of projects all over the world, including The Netherlands, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Qatar where he performed services such as cost engineering, strategic planning, project management and project controls. 

Axias Wins Department of the Navy PVAs

Axias has been awarded a term contract as part of the REVPAR team to provide project validation assessments (PVAs) for the Department of the Navy’s Morale, Welfare & Recreation (MWR) facilities. We will conduct market surveys, calculate location factors, conduct on-site interviews with general contractors and subcontractors as well as perform cost estimating for each project during the PVA process. Together under a similar contract for the Department of the Army’s MWR, Axias is providing the same PVA services on Naval and Army installations in the United States and abroad.

Axias Wins University of Virginia Term Contract

Axias has been awarded a term contract with The University of Virginia (UVA) to provide cost consulting, scheduling, and value management.  Services associated with this term contract will generally support both Academic and Health System non-capital and capital projects for planning, new construction and renovations.  The contract will be for one year with four additional 1-year options.

Project – International Monetary Fund, Washington, DC

Axias is pleased to announce that we have been selected to provide change order analysis services to IMF for their HQ1 renovation project. This 1.8m square foot, multiple phase program of work is taking place while the building is occupied, and will result in a complete replacement of all mechanical and electrical systems, with new architectural finishes throughout and creation of several new public areas.

Project – European Reassurance Initiative

Axias is pleased to announce that we are part of the Louis Berger team providing master-planning and DD1391 preparation for several projects under the President’s European Reassurance Initiative. Our initial tasks include cost estimating, utilizing PACES and local cost data for upgrades and expansions of facilities, taxiways and associated infrastructure at air bases in Romania, Latvia and Poland.
