Senior Cost Estimator - East Brunswick, NJ

We are seeking a motivated Senior Cost Manager/Estimator with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in the industry, ideally spanning several sectors such as commercial, education, cultural, healthcare and government. Our cost consultants provide our clients with a well-rounded skill set that includes cost estimating, bid analysis, change order management, life-cycle cost analysis, contractual interpretation and positioning, value management and all other commercial construction aspects. We encourage close collaboration between our cost managers and project managers, such that each benefit from the other’s project experience and complementary skill sets, continually improving the services we provide to our clients. This position is hybrid, with an expectation of at least 2 days per week in the NJ office.
The specific duties for the position include the following, at minimum (as manager of projects/clients):
Cost estimating at all stages of a project - feasibility, concept, through the various design stages to pre-bid, detailed estimates with labor, material and equipment breakdowns.
Change order management.
Perform quality control and assurance on cost estimates.
Communicate with clients.
Attend project meetings with clients and owners.
Bid analysis.
Assist with life-cycle cost analysis and other economic studies.
Manage key client accounts as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in quantity surveying/construction management/engineering or architecture, with the following specific requirements:
Deep knowledge of architectural, structural and civil disciplines with ideally a working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
7+ years cost management or related experience on medium to large-scale construction projects.
Bachelors or higher degree in a construction related discipline.
AACEi credential such as CCP or CEP is beneficial but not mandatory (will be expected to be obtained within 18 months of hire)
Communication and organization skills
Ability to effectively plan, manage time and problem solve.
Capacity to work in a team setting with no supervision or direction.
Experience in writing business documents, such as reports, detailed letters and emails.
Attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel
Experience with estimating and take-off software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, 2nd Generation MCACES (MII), SUCCESS, CostWorks, etc., is beneficial but training will be provided as necessary
