Designed by SOM, the National Museum of the United States Army occupies an 84-acre publicly accessible site at Fort Belvoir. It is the first and only museum to tell the entire history of the U.S. Army since its establishment in 1775. Exhibits display thousands of pieces from the Army’s extensive collection of art, artifacts, documents, and photographs.
The museum’s Experiential Learning Center provides visitors of all ages a unique opportunity to participate in hands-on, educational and team-building activities in the areas of geography, science, technology, engineering and math.
For details about the museum, which opened on November 11, 2020, visit their website. For information about its design, check out SOM’s project page here.
