AstraZeneca opened its new combination office and lab facility in the Cove at Oyster Point, signaling the consolidation of five Bay Area sites into one. More than 350 employees in AstraZeneca, Acerta Pharma, MedImmune, and Pearl R&D facilities moved to the new location, billed as a hub for biotech companies.
Axias provided project management to help oversee the planning, procurement, design, and construction of the building, which was designed by HOK and built by XL Construction, under a CM at-risk contract with a GMP delivery method. The MEP portion of the tenant fit-out was design-build.
