Renovation of this 1970s-era hotel near Reagan National Airport required refurbishment and repair of the structure and exterior precast concrete cladding panels. Tasks involved removal and replacement of selected finishes, construction coordination, and slab edge, column, and precast repairs. A phased approach to construction was taken so that the building could remain operational and occupied for the duration of the work.
As the project manager, Axias was responsible for design team (Cooper Carry and SK&A) oversight during the design phase and on-site construction management. We also provided cost estimating and value engineering services and assisted with permitting and general contractor procurement.
