Axias Role: Cost Estimating
Poly Prep is a co-ed college preparatory school educating students in from nursery through 12th grade on two campuses. The Middle School and Upper School are located on the 25-acre Dyker Heights Campus. Axias worked with Sage and Coombe Architects to provide cost estimating support for a series of renovation projects at the campus.
Commons: This project expanded the school’s cafeteria facilities with a new four-story addition to the rear of the commons and the creation of a mezzanine in the existing area. General back-of-the-house and student lounge renovations were made to the cellar and mezzanine floors.
Performing Arts Center: The new wing, called the Jacquin Philip Fink ‘54 Center for the Performing Arts, enhanced the school’s existing program and liberated space for additional classrooms in the main building. The project provided a practical and academic link between the north and south campuses, created new dance studios and practice rooms adjacent to the existing theater spaces, and established a new arts quad to highlight Poly's extensive arts education program. A secondary goal of the PAC expansion was to improve circulation and accessibility in a congested area of the campus.
