Reston Fire Station No. 25
Location: Reston, VA
Client: LeMay Erickson Willcox Architects
Owner: Fairfax County
Size: 17,000 SF
Axias Role: Cost Estimating
This facility replaces a 2.5-bay station. Built in 1972, it was undersized and did not have the infrastructure and functionality to support a modern firefighting force.
The new four-bay, two-story station accommodates up to 20 firefighters per shift and six apparatus equipment including a future engine and medic. Expanded support functions include updated gear lockers, shop and storage rooms, a control room, and a lobby. The living quarters, offices, and bunk and locker rooms are located above the apparatus bays on the second floor.
Axias provided cost estimating during design, starting with several options and then transitioning to the selected concept.
